What is MRCEM Primary?
The MRCEM is a prestigious certification and provides a number of benefits for doctors who wish to specialise in emergency medicine, in terms of advancing their career and enhancing their skills. MRCEM Primary is the first hurdle in the path towards achieving membership in the Royal College of Emergency Medicine.
MRCEM Primary is a theoretical paper, consisting of 180 questions. The duration of the examination is 3 hours and the candidates are expected to choose the best answer from the available options for every question.
The syllabus consists of subjects including Anatomy, Physiology, Pharmacology, Microbiology, Pathology, Evidence-based medicine, etc.

How to go about with the booking?
The booking for May 2025 MRCEM Primary will be open from 17th February, 2025. Book your slot at the earliest to make sure that you do not miss the chance this time.
You are required to create an account on the RCEM website, in order to book your slot for MRCEM Primary. The booking procedure is simple and to make it hassle-free, make sure that you keep all the necessary documents handy. Also, keep a check on the timing. The booking window opens at 10.00 AM (GMT) and closes at 5.00 PM (GMT).
Once you log in to the account, you will have the option to choose the examination and assessment centre. Select your desired options carefully and make the payment. Once the booking is completed, you will receive a confirmation email.
