The Royal College of Emergency Medicine has released the results for the MRCEM Intermediate SBA January 2026, and our students have once again risen to the occasion. How to check MRCEM SBA January 2026 results

The RCEM will send an email notification to the candidates once the results are released. To view your results, you must log in to your RCEM online account, where you can access and download your official result letter. Please note that the RCEM does not communicate exam results directly through phone or email.

However, within one week of the results being published, you will receive a detailed feedback letter. It will include your individual score, the exam pass mark, and the cohort average, which represents the mean score of all candidates who appeared for the examination.

What is MRCEM SBA?

The MRCEM intermediate SBA is the second step you need to clear to get the ‘MRCEM’ postnominal. It acts as a bridge between the foundational MRCEM Primary and the final OSCE in the MRCEM exam pathway. You must have cleared MRCEM Primary and have two years of medical experience post primary medical degree in order to be eligible to take the MRCEM SBA exam. The exam is computer-based, and it tests how well candidates can apply their clinical knowledge in real-life emergency scenarios.

Number of papers: Two

Number of questions: 90 SBA questions

Exam duration: Two hours per paper

There will be an additional one-hour break between the papers.
