MRCEM Primary Exam

The MRCEM Primary exam is your first step enroute to becoming an emergency medicine specialist. This written examination is designed to assess a candidate’s knowledge in emergency medicine. The MRCEM Primary consists of two sections: multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and extended matching questions (EMQs).

How to apply for MRCEM Primary Exam?

Before you start the application process, make sure you meet the MRCEM eligibility criteria. To apply for MRCEM, you must be a fully qualified medical practitioner with at least two years of post-registration experience. You must also have a valid medical license and be actively practicing emergency medicine. Once you have ensured that you meet the eligibility criteria, you can start the application process. You need to create an account on the Royal College of Emergency Medicine website to apply. Once you have created an account, you can access the MRCEM application form and complete it online. It requires information about your medical qualifications, your experience in emergency medicine, and your professional development activities. You will also need to provide evidence of your clinical competence and complete an online assessment of your clinical skills.

Things to keep in mind while applying for MRCEM Primary May 2024 Exam?

Aspirants have a time of one week to confirm their seats. RCEM will open the application from 10.00 UK time and application windows remain open for seven days, with the 17.00 UK time on the closing date, i.e., 28 February 2024. The results of the May exam will be published in the first week of July 2024.Once you have completed the application form and assessment, you will need to pay the application fee. The application fee is non-refundable, and you must pay it before your application can be processed.
