The Membership of the Royal College of Emergency Medicine (MRCEM) is widely recognized as a highly coveted credential for Emergency Medicine doctors in the UK. The Royal College of Emergency Medicine (RCEM) is the professional membership body responsible for conducting MRCEM exams, and they’ve chosen the Pearson VUE platform to deliver these exams online. If you’re ready to take your initial step toward becoming a recognized emergency medicine practitioner, here will provide detailed instructions on scheduling RCEM exams on Pearson VUE online.

When to Schedule Your Exam?



Aspirants need to submit their applications through the RCEM website. RCEM will begin processing your application after the application window closes. After making the payment, you’ll receive a payment confirmation email. Typically, RCEM takes a couple of weeks to approve your application. Once your application is approved, you’ll receive a confirmation email.

Scheduling Your Exam


After RCEM sends you the confirmation email, your data will be automatically shared with Pearson VUE. Pearson VUE will create an account for you, and you’ll receive an email from Pearson VUE regarding the exam booking. You will receive two emails: one with a user ID and the other with a temporary password. Once you have received these emails, visit the RCEM page on Pearson VUE.

Step-by-Step Guide to Scheduling Your Exam
Sign in to your Pearson VUE web account

Click “Sign-in” on the RCEM exam page on the Pearson VUE webpage. Use the user ID and password you received from Pearson VUE. After signing in with the temporary password, you’ll be asked to change your password and set up three security challenge options. Follow the prompts to complete this process. Afterward, you can visit the RCEM page on Pearson VUE again and sign in with your new password.

If you’ve lost the email that RCEM sent to you, don’t worry. You have the option to retrieve your data. Click on “Forgot username or password.” You can retrieve your data by providing your first name, last name, and email address, or by using your College ID and email address.

Schedule your exam date and location

You will be asked to choose where you want to take the exam: at a local test center or at home or in your office.If you choose a local test center, on the next page, you’ll need to enter the address where you want to take the exam. It’s not mandatory to appear for the exam in your own home country; you can take the exam from any country. After entering the address, you’ll receive a list of available Pearson VUE testing locations. You can select up to three centers and check for slot availability.

Available slot dates will be marked in blue. If the dates are grey, it means that no testing slots are open at that center. In case slots are not available, choose another center or check again later. If none of the three centers you chose have available dates, try entering a different area address and try again.

Proceed with booking

Once you find a suitable center, choose a date and a available time slot. You can only choose from the available timings on this page. This will take you to a details page with information about the exam you are booking, along with testing center details and the chosen date and time. Review the information and click “Confirm.

Accept the terms and confirm your booking

Once you accept the terms, your booking will get confirmed. You will receive an exam appointment confirmation by email within 48 hours, including the date and location of the exam. Booking details and other information will also be available on your dashboard on Pearson VUE. If you have any corrections to make or do not receive the booking confirmation within 48 hours, there is an option to contact Pearson VUE immediately by phone or email.

You have the option to choose whether to take the exam from your home or a nearby testing center based on availability and your comfort.
